Senior IT/OT Consultant

We now have offices in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston, Texas, and our service capabilities include all aspects of electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering design; industrial control system programming; and IT infrastructure design, networking, and consulting services. Our work primarily serves municipal water/wastewater utilities, state and local jails, detention/corrections facilities, as well as private clients.

Job Description
Signature Automation is seeking a Senior IT/OT Consultant to join our team. This role involves supporting, troubleshooting, and consulting for external clients and internal staff while contributing technical leadership and mentorship. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in virtualization, networking, and cybersecurity best practices, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must have certifications such as Cisco CCNA and VMware or be in the final stages of certification completion.

Responsibilities Include:

• Evaluate and analyze existing physical network and computer systems infrastructure.
• Perform comprehensive network and security assessments for client environments.
• Create detailed technical documentation, including Visio diagrams, engineering reports, and plans and specifications.
• Configure, program, and commission network equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and virtualized environments using VMware.
• Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior IT/OT staff, fostering their professional development.
• Develop and deliver customized training programs for end clients, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 8 years of experience in IT consulting, systems integration, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated success in managing IT projects and achieving measurable results.
• In-depth expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, enterprise software, or data analytics.
• Strong understanding of IT frameworks and methodologies.
• Industry certifications, including Cisco CCNA, MCSE, VMware, or similar, are highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with firewall configuration (e.g., Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).
• Outstanding analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for client engagements.
• Availability to work on-site at Signature Automation’s Dallas, TX office.
