Electrical & Instrumentation Design Engineer

Established in 2012, Signature Automation has experienced continuous growth in our relatively short history. We now have offices in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston, Texas, and our service capabilities include all aspects of electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering design; industrial control system programming; and IT infrastructure design, networking, and consulting services. Our work primarily serves municipal water/wastewater utilities, state and local jails, detention/corrections facilities, as well as private clients.

We are seeking an entry level electrical and instrumentation engineer to join our team in the Dallas office.



Essential Functions

  • Support senior staff in performing industrial control system assessments and prepare preliminary design reports (PDRs)
  • Develop detailed technical documentation such as project plans and specifications, engineering reports, etc.
  • Support senior staff in development of Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC)
  • Support senior staff in witnessing of field acceptance test (FATs) and field inspections
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) 
  • Ability to take direction effectively and work in a team environment
  • Experience in water/wastewater preferred, but not required
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • AutoCAD and Microstation experience preferred, but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be available to work in Dallas, TX
